Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Sitr API and platform at sitrsecure.com (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are accepting on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Sitr provides a privacy layer between your applications and large language model (LLM) providers. The Service detects and pseudonymises personally identifiable information (PII) in text before it is forwarded to an AI model, and restores real values in the response. Sitr also provides an LLM gateway (OpenAI-compatible API) and a Secure AI Chat portal.

4. Prohibited uses

You may not use the Service to:

• Process data in violation of applicable privacy or data protection law.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or circumvent the redaction pipeline.
• Resell access to the Service without a written reseller agreement.
• Conduct denial-of-service attacks or abuse rate limits.
• Submit content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes third-party rights.

5. Plans, payment, and cancellation

The Free plan is provided at no charge subject to usage limits. Paid plans (Starter, Growth) are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. All prices are in USD.

You may cancel at any time from the Billing tab in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued unless required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice to your account email address.

6. Data processing

Sitr acts as a data processor on your behalf when processing personal data through the redaction pipeline. You are the data controller. Sitr does not store the content of any prompt or response; see our Privacy Policy for full details.

Sitr is a technical privacy tool. It reduces PII exposure to AI models but does not guarantee full legal compliance. Consult qualified legal counsel for your PDPPL or other regulatory obligations.

7. Availability and SLA

Sitr targets 99.5% monthly uptime for the API. Scheduled maintenance windows will be announced via the status page. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and are not liable for downtime caused by third-party infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, AI providers).

8. Intellectual property

Sitr retains all rights to the Service, including the redaction engine, API design, and platform. You retain all rights to your data. By using the Service, you grant Sitr a limited licence to process your data solely to provide the Service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sitr's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim.

Sitr is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or regulatory penalties arising from your use of the Service.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Qatar. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. Unresolved disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Qatar.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
